Most people say, successful people don’t watch TV. I really hope that isn’t true, because television is a major part of my life and has been since I was a little girl. Though I love TV, my interests don’t stop there. I also enjoy reading (fiction and non-fiction) and consider myself to be pretty outgoing (outdoorsy too). I do feel there is a stigma with people who watch TV, often times I hear people say “I don’t have time to watch TV”, well I do. I actually make time for it. I stay up and hour later or DVR things, but I am SERIOUS when it comes to my TV shows.
Another thing I find to be curious is how the TV shows you watch define your personality. I know for a fact I am a TV snob, I tend to dislike “trashy” shows and love that I love nerdy shows. Yes I know I’m totally judgmental, but I swear i don’t mean to be. Of the older shows, Seinfeld is my favorite. I loove everything about it. I love Elaine’s hideous dance moves, George’s baldness, Jerry’s dry humor, and Kramer’s…..well everyone just loves Kramer. Other than Seinfeld, most of the shows I watch are on HBO ( T
OTAL HBO SNOB). Recently I’ve branched out a bit. I started watching The Knick (cinemax) last year, started The Affair (Showtime), Being Mary Jane (BET) and watched Narcos and House of Card on Netflix. (see what I mean…I love my shows)
These are just a few of my favorites. I also enjoy watching Nat Geo (big cat week is my fave), the history channel, and the food network.
So I say all this to say…what do do the shows I watch say about me? All the shows I watch with the exception of a few, have serious story lines, a lot of drama, and involve politics… Am I super boring???? Maybe, but I definitely think they relate to things I am passionate about.
What do the shows you watch say about you?
